As more and more members of eMUN-fellows.net arrived in front of Bain & Company’s impressive Munich Office, it became clear that the team spirit we had built up in 5 months of training and during the conference had not lost a bit of its atmosphere. Hugs, jokes and so much to talk about!
At 11 a.m., Recruiting Coordinator Julia Gössel welcomed all members and led them inside the Munich Office to get started with the day’s task to learn about “Project Management”.
The Workshop was presented by herself, Associate Consultant Alexandra Wiesinger and Consultant Jan Thomas. The first part contained a general introduction of Bain & Company and a theoretical input on the concepts within “Project Management”. The part was accompanied by a lot of curious, critical and attentive questions of all eMUN-fellows.net members. “All the concepts were already interesting themselves, but how Bain & Company implements them in cases and uses them in their everyday work was even more fascinating to hear”, as eMUN-fellows Nina Helbach aptly put it.
Precise communication, effective discussions and time pressure – the natural habitat of an eMUN-fellow. After only 45 minutes, the show was on. Together, the eMUN-fellows.net members managed to apply the concepts introduced by Bain & Company and find solutions to save an international restaurant as well as an insurance company from going bankrupt. All three representatives of Bain & Company seemed to be impressed by the skill level and especially teamwork of the eMUN-fellows.net members and we were truly grateful for the insightful experience.
After the work was done, we were invited on the deck of the Munich Office for an informal get together with refreshing drinks and delicious cake. Pleasant, interesting and productive conversations on the deck affirmed the extensive common ground between eMUN-fellows.net and Bain & Company. We are thankful for the opportunity to learn more about “Project Management” and look forward to embark our future in our upcoming strategy weekend!
As a first step, we reviewed the past year and eMUN-fellows.net’s rather short history. A lot went well, and we have come a long way. We found great partners and thus accomplished our first fully financed participation in WorldMUN 2014. We recruited 13 outstanding high potentials, spent countless hours in online-trainings and workshops, organized three offline-trainings and our own conference microMUNich, combing MUN with serious skill building. Coaching in public speaking, negotiation, personal branding, networking and much more transformed thirteen talented students into proven young leaders. An outstanding team spirit helped us accomplish all these things - and now gives us the power to push eMUN-fellows.net further for upcoming delegates, members and projects.
Nevertheless, there is always room to grow. Therefore, working in groups, we identified what we are good at, who we want to share it with and who we want on board as partnersto unlock our full potential. Results reach from recruiting the new delegation to WorldMUN 2015 through channeling our communication, reaching even more people, and widening both scope and impact to truly shape future global leaders. A lot of great and creative ideas came up in lively discussions. As all of the new ideas and upcoming tasks have to be overseen and responsibilities have to be split up, we linked the strategy weekend with a general meeting of the eMUN-fellows.net association. Tobias Henz and Rima-Maria Rahal were reelected as board members. They will be supported by the newly elected Daniela Hildenbrand.
After the official part, responsibilities for the earlier defined areas and tasks were split up. All members will continue their work with excitement and push eMUN-fellows.net to even greater spheres than this year. Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved and the recruiting phase for the delegation 2015! In order not to miss anything, also follow our channels on Twitter and Facebook!
