But the worries quickly proved to be unnecessary. We started the weekend with a series of multi-tasking and negotiating tasks, getting to know each other and integrating everyone who was coming in late thanks to storm "Xaver". It was the perfect start to develop team spirit and professional tasks in the same time. Friday night ended up with Pizza for everyone and a fun night of bowling.
Saturday we finally made it: Our first-ever complete Harvard-style model UN debate, with everyone representing a different country in ECOFIN – the Economic and Financial Affairs Council. Therefore, we spend the day with heated discussions, and resolving the remaining confusion about the official rules of procedure and a lot of learning. "Finally debating in person was so enriching. I now feel that I really understand the process in depth – the individual interaction with and within the group made it even more fun", as Thilo states in the feedback round. Meanwhile, our spirit to reach one goal together grew even stronger. Finally, we all ended the exciting day together on the Heidelberg Christmas Market, a city tour and visiting the old town.
Sunday therefore started unhurriedly with a cosy Advent Brunch and additional exercises on multi-tasking and body language. Although time flew, we still took the time to give each other feedback on the 2 days of offline training and to plan how to move on. The most frequent comment: "Amazing weekend, a lot of learning and incredible team spirit!"
