Sometimes, you don’t even realize how grandiose an idea is until you’re in the middle of it. For instance, do you think it sounds like a great idea to assemble 30 Ukrainian, Russian and German youth to discuss ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis? Come on, seriously, how does it matter what these young people do during this meeting? Will Merkel, Putin and Poroshenko listen? Probably not. But!

April 28th marked an important day in a be.boosted alumni’s life: our first alumni online meeting!
While up until this date, there have not been many occasions for all former be.boosted delegations to meet, the be.boosted alumni network has now taken the next step by implementing monthly online meetings. Therefore, on April 28th, participants from Team Brussels, Team London and Team Seoul came together.
1 city, 5 days, 21 committees, 115 countries, 2400 participants – Diverse Views, A United Vision. Shining from large banners on doors and ceilings, these words accompanied our first steps through the enormously large conference centre KINTEX at the city limit of Seoul, which shouldn’t become our second but rather our first home over the next five days. The united vision of this year’s fifteen eMUN-fellows, representing the Kingdom of Morocco, and their two faculty advisors and be.boosted coaches Rima and Tobi was clear: remember you’re awesome, trust your leadership and negotiation skills developed, exercised and fine-tuned over the last five months, and go and MoROCKo it! With this in mind, we immersed ourselves in the vividly chatting crowds of young aspiring diplomats, and five minutes and thirty new business cards later, the united vision among all delegates of (strategic) networking, intercultural exchange and WorldMUN spirit was more than apparent. Accompanied by more or less traditional Korean dances, preliminary committee block formations and last minute strategy sessions, the 24th Harvard WorldMUN was officially declared open and the Olympics of Model United Nations began.
be.boosted at London International Model United Nations 2015

Caro is a member of our Team London 2015
I still have strong memories of November 17 last year. Towards 9 o’clock I was busy typing 9 numbers in my zoom account and clicked “Join” – join the first meeting with my be.boosted team and as I entered, 15 faces were looking at me. Maybe curious, maybe excited, but fond of the be.boosted spirit. And suddenly five months later, five months full of preparation and training, we were standing in front of the Central Hall Westminster in London together - in this vibrant, cosmopolitan and charming city - maybe curios, maybe excited, but most definitely full of be.boosted spirit and overall prepared for London International Model United Nations 2015.

LIMUN and Harvard WorldMUN were getting closer and it was time for Team London and Team Seoul to come together once again in Munich to make final preparations for the goal we have been working towards for the last months. After having met in January, having spent evenings on online team-calls and coaching sessions, and having conducted thorough research on the countries and topics we are going to represent at LIMUN and WorldMUN, both delegations were absolutely thrilled to see each other again and get ready for the upcoming endeavors, putting the finishing touches to what we had worked on so far.
Turning Team Seoul and Team London into Team be.boosted If you’re part of a team, any (offline) weekend is awesome!
Written by Katharina Brinck
After months of online team calls, workshops and coaching sessions, finally the weekend Team London had been longing for had arrived: our first offline get-together in Munich. Not only would the delegation traveling to LIMUN meet in person for the first time, but we would also get to know Team Seoul and members of the core team. The excitement was huge (and luckily made up for the short nights most of us had spent on busses, trains or airplanes) when the portrait pictures we knew so well from the weekly online meetings turned into real persons of flesh and blood on Friday morning.
Even though the situation was a peculiar combination of getting to know strangers you had never met before and reuniting with your friends you see and talk to on a weekly basis, it didn’t take longer than a few moments until we were sure – the coconuts (credits to our expert session with Dr. Ashis Brahma) of Team London and their colleagues from Team Seoul must have known each other for years. Hence vivid chatting accompanied the official start of our first day, which was shaped by a workshop on project management by Matthias Reiser and Jöran Albers of Bain & Company in their impressive Munich office. After a morning of input, we spent the afternoon applying our newly gained knowledge to two example cases and could exercise our presentation skills when convincing our managers (aka the two experienced consultants and most supportive workshop leaders from Bain & Company) of our solutions.

Over 40 faces on a screen, eagerly listening and raising their hands to ask questions, what does that sound like? Exactly, be.boosted’s biggest zoom call yet. The occasion? Our expert session with Dr. Ashis Brahma.
Ashis is doing humanitarian work in the field, from Nepal to Burundi, Uganda to Sudan. Most notably, Ashis was the camp manager of around 27.000 refugees fleeing from the Second Sudanese Civil war to Chad. We are utterly excited to have had him in our call sharing his experiences and expertise with us. Therefore, we did not only invite both of our delegations for Seoul and London to join the Expert Session, but we also invited members of the core team as well as applicants for the 14/15 fellowship that we were not able to take on, enabling an even larger crowd to be able to be part of the be.boosted mission of Shaping Future Global Leaders.
be.boosted Team Seoul 2015 first meeting in Heidelberg.

"Oh Heidelberg, you beauty"… there could hardly be any better place to kick-off the be.boosted Team Seoul’s offline training experience than this cozy city nestled into the Neckar valley, packed with history and great visions for the future. Against the backdrop of the castle ruins and the bustling Christmas markets, we spent a highly productive weekend and got to know the team face-to-face.
