Speaking like Obama? We would argue this is neither achievable nor desirable. Each and every one of us has their very own identity, and each identity demands a personal, individually composed style of public speaking. Being well structured, engaging, and persuasive only works well when our speeches are tailored to our personality to be truly convincing.
Nevertheless, there is a lot to learn from Barack Obama, for instance from his Presidential Announcement from late 2007.
Notice how it does not even take him a minute to touch on a wide range of core values of the American society - verbally and non-verbally - and make sure to check out what our friends from the Stockholm Institute for Public Speaking have to say about Ethos, pathos & values with regard to Obama's speech.
